DESCRIPTION:An entire month honoring those who saved lives through the gift of organ\, eye\, and tissue donation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach year during the month of April\, Donate Life New York State (NYS) celebrates National Donate Life Month\, raising awareness of the lifesaving impact of organ\, eye\, and tissue donors\, and honoring those who have saved lives through the gift of donation. Throughout the month\, we join donation advocates across the nation to remind the public that we all have the power to save lives by registering as organ\, eye and tissue donors. We also focus efforts on raising critical funds to continue helping those in need of lifesaving transplants \n\n\n\n2025 Donate Life Month Theme:♬ Let Life Sing! ♬\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBirds are known across many cultures as one of the most welcomed and visible signs of spring. They represent both new beginnings and visits from loved ones who have passed away. For 2025 National Donate Life Month\, join us to honor and remember donors who bring new life and inspiration to those waiting for a second chance at life. \n\n\n\nThen join us in helping save and heal lives: Register your decision to be an organ\, eye and tissue donor and champion the Donate Life cause.  \n\n\n\nMake Donate Life Month a RouSing Success!\n\n\n\n\nTell friends and family they can enroll online in the New York State Donate Life Registry;\n\n\n\nHelp us raise critical funds by making a financial contribution or holding a fundraiser benefitting Donate Life New York State;\n\n\n\nFollow us on Facebook\, Twitter\, Instagram\, YouTube\, and LinkedIn. In 2024\, more than 7\,000 gave one of their kidneys or a part of their liver to someone waiting for a 2nd chance at life. Use #LivingDonorDay in your social media posts! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApril 6 through April 12\, 2025: Blue & Green Spirit Week\n\n\n\nEach day of the week leading up to Donate Life Blue & Green Day is dedicated to a special theme\, and will include: recognizing donors\, volunteers and healthcare heroes; giving hope to those waiting; and engaging the public in fun activities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApril 5\, 2025: Dress Up Your Pets\n\n\n\nGet ready to unleash your furry friends’ style and show off their adorable blue and green flair for a good cause on Donate Life Dress Up Your Pets Day! Post pictures on our Facebook page or email to communications@dlnys.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApril 6\, 2025: Make Blue & Green Treats\n\n\n\nGet creative in the kitchen and whip up delicious blue and green treats to celebrate April 6th’s ‘Make Blue & Green Treats’ day – a flavorful way to support a meaningful cause! It focuses on the powerful message of ending the pediatric transplant waiting list. Throughout Pediatric Transplant Week\, clinical partners share patient stories (candidates and recipients); donor families whose children have saved and healed lives through organ\, eye\, and tissue donation are honored; and recipient families share their thanks and milestone celebrations.
