Donate Life New York State (NYS) proudly announces the Donate Life Dealer of the Year Award, a new program to recognize NYS Automobile Dealers Association (NYSADA) members for outstanding efforts in promoting organ, eye, and tissue donor enrollment, fundraising, and community engagement during Donate Life Month (April 2025).
Complete entry form by Friday, February 14, 2025 to enter the competition.
Award Program Details:
- Evaluation: A Donate Life NYS committee, including donor families and transplant recipients, will score dealerships based on donor registration drives, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.
- Statewide Honors: The top dealer will be named Donate Life Dealer of the Year.
- Dealer Training and Promotion: Donate Life NYS will personally contact registered participants to further discuss the award competition details and provide resources that include educational and promotional materials to spread awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation during April. Dealers must prominently display these materials in showrooms and online.
- Recognition: Winning dealerships will receive extensive media coverage at the local, regional, and national levels, boosting their reputation as community leaders supporting Donate Life NYS’ mission to save lives.
Engagement Period
The program will take place during Donate Life Month. All registration drives and fundraising campaigns must be conducted between April 1 and April 30, 2025.
- Registration Drives: Each participating dealer must host at least one Donate Life Registry Drive during April, aiming to engage customers, employees, and the local community in registering for the New York State Donate Life Registry.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Dealers are required to organize at least one fundraising event or campaign during Donate Life Month and can showcase their commitment to Donate Life NYS by engaging their customers.

1. Media and Community Outreach:
- Press Conference: Hosted at the winning dealership, the event will include notable attendees (subject to change) such as:
- NYSADA President Bob Vancavage, addressing statewide impact
- Local elected officials and mission-connected individuals, sharing impactful stories
- Media Coverage:
- Pre-event outreach to local/regional media outlets, plus Automotive News and Dealer Magazine.
- Post-event co-branded press release, with photos, sent statewide to print/broadcast media and automotive trade journals.
