Donate Life New York State’s SFY 26 Funding Request
We need your help!
The Governor and New York State Legislature are finalizing the SFY 26 Budget, and $1 million in critical state funding for Donate Life New York State is at risk. This funding is essential to sustain and expand programs that increase organ, eye, and tissue donation and save lives across our state.
Why Your Action Matters
- Nearly 8,000 New Yorkers are still waiting for lifesaving transplants.
- Over 50% of residents age 18+ are now registered donors, thanks to your advocacy and these vital programs.
- Continued investment will grow the NYS Donate Life Registry, advance technology for easier enrollment, and strengthen outreach to underserved communities.
What’s at Stake
Restoring $1 million—the same as last year—will allow Donate Life NYS to:
- Strengthen outreach in communities with lower donor enrollment and limited access to transplants.
- Expand the Donate Life Registry and reach more potential donors.
- Integrate donor registration into healthcare settings through new technology.
- Launch the Tribute Plaque Project, sharing inspiring stories at DMV offices statewide.
