New ‘Be The One’ Videos Inspire New Yorkers to Enroll as Organ and Tissue Donors

Donate Life NYS is proud to present a three new inspirational videos in our “Be the One” series. These videos, generously funded by the NYS Department of Health, aim to raise awareness of the lifesaving impact made by organ, eye, and tissue donors and motivate New Yorkers to “Be the One” by enrolling in the New York State Donate Life Registry.

Dalton Criss

In 2019, 19-year-old Dalton Criss became and organ and tissue donor after tragically passing away in a car accident. Dalton’s gift saved and healed the lives of more than 50 people through whom his legacy lives on. “Being an organ donor, it is an act of love,” said Dalton’s father, Dr. Dexter Criss.

Anita Moore

A cornea transplant saved Anita Moore from blindness and allowed her to return to her rewarding career as a police sergeant in NYPD’s special victims unit. “That decision to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor has such a ripple effect on other people,” said Anita. If not for her transplant said she “would be in a totally different place right now.”

Angela Huper

Tissue recipient Angela Huper regained her freedom and mobility after experiencing extensive burns and undergoing nearly 20 reconstructive procedures following a fire in her NYC apartment in 2019. “If not for the donation of skin and tissue, I wouldn’t be walking right now,” said Angela. “Pass a blessing on to someone else. Give them a second chance.”
